for the record, you can still go fast while taking the foot off the gas while shifting.... Power-shifting is faster.. but ur putting a lot at risk...

I got my shift light at 6200.....but thats becasue of my MREV.....power starts to go down after 6400 rpm. You still make power after 6400, but your going faster slower, if I shift before 6400 rpm I go faster faster. Does that make sense?

If you want to practice powershifting, you can just powershift at like 3k rpm. That way you'll have time to let off the gas and avoid overrevving if you miss the shift.

Yes. Powershifting is hard on the drivetrain, but so is doing burnouts, poping the clutch at 2.5k, etc. Just don't do it too much and you'll be fine. Powershifting is probably worth 2/10ths in the 1/4mi. At least for the 5.0 Mustang it was.

yea we should be faster than the non-sti wrx...just work on shifting faster (clutch in-out real quick) and time your gear change accordingly. I'm starting to sort of get the hang of it now (after like 6 months). DONT do the "leave gas pedal in" method b/c as such we (shift-noobs) are far more likely to really f*ck up something using that method then someone with more experience.
