1st to 2nd shift experience

All,

I just wanted to get other peoples expereinces. My 6MT always makes a noise going from 1st to 2nd. The sound has nothing to do with the clutch, it only happens when I'm pulling the shifter from 1st to 2nd (I heard other people refer to this as the gate?... I think...). It's kind of a clunk.

I've checked the g35 coupe forum, and this seems to be common.

1) Has anyone here in national g had the problem?
2) What did you do about it? What did the dealer say it was?
3) What dealers are most like to fix it and not tell me "it's normal"
4) Overall advice. The sound is annoying.

Thanks in advance!

Sorry haven't been around in awhile, been traveling a lot for work.

Brian.

I got that too :-), but not so much worried about it because I assumed that's but it was. But you definatlely have a smooth shift from 1st to 2nd when then clutch is pushed in? Mine is notchy and makes noise as I do the motion.... Which I just don't think is right....

make sure u push the clutch all the way in. it'll make shift little smoother. I do feel something is blocking the shift gate. everytime I shift from 1st to 2nd.

Is the redline stuff thicker or thinner then what's in the car now?

For that matter, what's in the car now?
