nGc 5AT owners..any regrets?

Just wondering for those of you in the club who have the 5AT, do you ever regret not getting the 6MT?

When I purchased the car about 5 months ago, I was just too excited I didnt care that I was getting an auto. I have never driven a manual before (unfortunately ) and there was no way I was considering learning on a brand new 35K dollar sports car. Lately I've been wondering if I acted to quickly in purchasing the 5AT. I could have learned on some beater car and then picked up a 6MT. During the week I dont mind the 5AT, but on the weekends I sometimes second guess myself and wonder how much more fun I would have with a 6MT. MM mode is pretty cool, but I know it's not the same without a clutch.

I also hate it when people ask "auto or stick" and I say auto. And they always say "oh..why?"

OH well, I still love my car and I am not going to trade it in for a less just to get a 6MT like others have done. I'll just wait for the next G35 to come out then probably get the 6MT then.

I've said it many times about this subject. Grass is usually greener on the other side. Its easy for manual owners to say you should get a manual, its the only way to drive the car. Everyone's situation is different.

This is my first AUTO car. I just can't handle the amount of traffic I sit in to get a manual car right now. I have no regrets. Sure there are days when we are on spirited drives that I wish I had a manual and then there are the rush hour bumper to bumper traffic jams too where Im happy.

If I didnt get my job that I'm at, I'd still have my old BMW and no G for me. I loved that car but unfortunately it being 5 speed, I just had no choice.

I have two MT's and my gf just got an AT. MT takes it hands down in anything but bumper to bumper... in heavy traffic, it is nice to be in the AT and not feel like you're killing your clutch by constantly shifting N-1-2-N, but as soon as traffic eases, my left foot gets restless and I often find it subconsciously stomping on the foot rest to the beat of the music... AT is also nice in that it permits talking on the phone much more easily, as I don't always have bluetooth activated in the car...

This is my first manaul car and up until the time I purchased it, I've never driven one for more than 5 minutes. At first it sucks in traffic but after 5 months, I'm use to it. From what I've heard, the '05 lighter clutch might make a huge difference if you're commute includes traffic. Besides, it gives me something to do in boring *** traffic.

Yeah I've driven the 05 clutch and it feels like feather compared to the 04 clutch which is like a spring action.

I was in the same exact situation as you stylez. If and when I get a second car and it's a sports coupe/car I will definitely get it in manual and use it for weekends and fridays. All in all I love having the automatic because it still is quick but if I had to do it all over again I'd do the same thing. I can shift if I want or cruise and I love that feature. I'm waiting for infiniti to come out with their version of Audi's DSG and BMW's SMG with no bugs in it.

I do regret. A lot.
it's been 5 months and i only have 2500 miles on my car.
2~3 cars waiting outside...meaning i don't drive much w/ my G
whenever i think i am going to get in a traffic, i take either of my 2 other AT cars (or you can say 3...anyways)
i made a mistake
if you have a winter car/daily, go w/ manual
