I'm reading and reading and reading and I just don't get it. I know you all had a hard ride up to Philly and I volunteered to help out on the grill longer than I really wanted to so things would go smooth for you all and get some food in ya after your ordeal but I really don't understand what you were expecting out of this meet.

The NY peeps had just as hard a time as i am sure you guys did but when they met up with us at the site it was all good, no complaints , just some brief comments and tidbits of the trip. My ride down on friday should of been a two hour jaunt, turned out to be a 5 hour journey. We all had some 'hardships' but peeps......... suc it up or you shoulda parked your G's and stayed home, it comes with the territory. Maybe it comes down to those of us in larger metro areas are more hardened to traffic issues.....dunno.
Everyone attending knew ahead of time what it was all about, travel wise and what to expect once you got to Philly. I mean there were posts all over the place. To raise your hand that you were down cause other peeps were doing it shouldn't of been the determining factor of why you rolled to Philly. The number of peeps attending shouldn't of been the determining factor either...... quality not quantity.

If you were looking to be entertained..... fahgettaboutit. The meet is what you make it to be, it wasn't advertized as a HIN meet but rather a bunch of G peeps getting together foolin around and having some clean phun. If you wanted something more you should of raised ur hand ahead of time or even at the meet and planned it. Talk to the organizers, they would have been up for any suggestions. That is the nature of these type of meets. Alot goes into the planning and executing a meet of this size.

Yea it was hot but no one could see ahead of time it was gonna be record breaking hot but if you couldn't or didn't want to deal with it when you woke up you could of kept the G parked for the day and not made the trip. For kickers throw in a rain shower just as you are pulling into the park.... think about it. Nobody's fault.

Yea name tags would of been kewl but it didn't happen on this one. Someone could of brought it up ahead of time if they thought it was that important to them or better yet should of taken it upon themselves to handle that area of the meet after talking to one of the peeps who was organizing this. Oh wait, something innovative .... like going around and introducing urself to some of the peeps you don't know. At all the Squad getogethers I make it point of introducing myself to the noobs/strangers at the meet. I'm not saying it is the end all but it's something. Putting a meet together takes alot time and energy, I've been there done that too many times with the G peeps, as things are flowing and you see something that may need attending to.... Yo.. pitch in. This is how we do things in the Squad and help one another.

There are givers and takers and we all have them in our respective groups. The takers usually take advantage of the givers, it's a way of life. Trust me this did not go unoticed saturday. For the few that did pitch in on their own.... thanks.

Sorry for the rant but I just couldn't sit by and see some of these posts roll by me without putting my 2 cents/opinion in and also had to bump my boyz post near the begining of the thread.... Yo Todd, right on.

PROPS TO ALL THAT WERE INVOLVED IN PUTTING THIS TOGETHER AND KG FOR BEING THE RING LEADER

Don't take this the wrong way, it's nothing personal and I am looking forward to the next time we all can get together again hopefully with cooler temps.

Ur whips r lookin good and the pics in this thread are real nice too. If anyone would like to share their pics in the Gsquad Gallery either PM me or hit me on AIM and we'll get 'em hoisted for ya.

Yes, I'm finished ( for now)

that's one hell of a manifesto. hahaha-

i think something like this really is what you make of it. sure, the drive up was pretty painful but i think going through the drive as a group, as well as being equipped with two way radios helped make it a lot better.

i also believe that the experiences of this trip, both good and bad, were all well worth it. if it were not for the journey and the meet, what the hell would most of us be doing on that saturday anyways? sitting around watching the tellie? trying to keep cool and avoid the swampland heat that is dc?

i feel sorry for anyone who regrets coming up on this trip because they're not fully realizing the moments of fun we had on the trip- just b.s.ing on the radio, taking over the roads and getting looks from all over, checking out the other G's in the lot, eating good grub, and being in the company of people who all have something in common with you.

did i mention the drive back? i'm sure almost everyone had fun on the drive back, it's almost like the grand finale of a show, and the knowledge that you've got a nice shower waiting for you when you get home.

there were complications that no one could have foreseen...so if you're hating on that, well, that's pretty stupid in my opinion. nothing in this world is perfect, and you can dwell on the shortcomings or you can remember the memories that made everything fun.

ramble ramble ramble...bah.

i think everyone needs to get their panties out of a knot, take a deep breathe and calm down. the fact of the matter is we all had a good time. some of us are making comments as to what we'd have liked to see improved, which is GOOD. No meet is going to be perfect, and suggestions are always welcome. I did NOT read one post on this thread which was negative, therefore I dont understand why some are getting sensitive and taking offense. O_NO, I am happy I was able to meet you and a few others so I can place some names to the faces. I also really appreciate and respect the fact that you took the time to get to know our members, in addition to all the grilling you were doing in the heat!!

I simply said I wouldve like to meet more of the NY/PA G squad members. HOWEVER, due to the fact that it took us 6+ hrs to arrive, and the time it took to eat/look at cars, that didnt leave me much time to meet anyone. My point and others was that for the 6 hours of driving time most of us put in, we wished we had more time to actually relax, meet you guys, eat, talk, chill etc. This has in no way anything to do w/ organization, setup, food or ANYTHING of that nature. Its just circumstances which were beyond our control, weather, traffic, heat, time.

Thats it plain and simple!!

The heat didn't bother me as much as the traffic. If 476 could have been avoided that would have been a better drive up. No one said the meet sucked they just weighed it against the amount of time spent traveling to the meet itself. And some feel that it wasn't worth it. I actually stayed behind with a couple peeps....(john, jesus, arjunz, rhea, claude, and company) and we chilled in philly for a bit. Had some shopping time and ate some cheesesteaks. An accident cannot be avoided...but I feel a planned road paving project definitely could have been.

Definitely nice to meet the culprit aka diesel... maybe next time we can get into something competitive so we can back all the talk up lol haha

I think this comment was what upset a lot of people... a little open ended and if you are going to pass along a comment like that, make yourself part of the solution... no hard feelings, no bad blood but give examples and ideas on how to improve which thankfully this thread became with a lot of people chiming in with ideas... there is no doubt in my mind that the next time or next 10 times will run much smoother and be more interactive... again though that depends on expectations of the people involved...

its like someone saying...

Dinner Friday night was great but i dont know about your wife...

Think we know how to help the next meet as far as travel. This was my first meet with the new car and new group.

1) Traveling with 25+ cars and keeping them together = nightmare!

2) Traveling in smaller packs 5 or 6 cars at a time. Might be easier to manage just each pack have 1 or 2 people with Nav!

3) Have alt routes in case of major traffic delays! Had any of us known about 95 to 202 we might have saved 3 hours. (Nobodys fault on this one who knew they would do road construction and cause that much of a back up on a weekend!)

Basically what was said I take more of a joke. Seriously doubt it was meant to bash the event or the people who went through a lot of effort and hard work to pull it off. For a meet this size just think of all the good that came from it.

1) Nobody was hurt. 101 was the reading on my temp on the dashboard. Did anyone pass out from the heat? Even O-No working hours on end on the grill. My hats off to him. Thank you for the burger too btw.

2) Nobody was arrested. Didn't see any police bother any of us which was good. We were drawing lots of attention. *cough BOOZ!

3) Nobody wrecked their car and don't think any break downs happened. Puria's drooling on his leg does not count.

All in all it was a great meet for so many cars and very few problems. Looking forward to the next meet and looking forward to when the National G Club holds our own DC style and hope everyone can make it down.

Just wanted to chime in with my two cents since I've been quiet til now, and was quiet at the meet too. I echo others' thanks and appreciation for all of those involved in pulling the meet off. Organizing a meet of this magnitude certainly took alot of effort, and all of the board threads and emails attest to how much was going on behind the scenes to make it a reality. It goes without saying that traffic was bad and the weather was hot. I'll admit that I let those get to me and it really sapped any energy I may have had to initiate conversation with those I didn't know at the meet. That said, I'm glad I went, and I'm encouraged to see the level of interest represented by all those that came. All of that only means we'll have a bigger and better meet to look forward to in the future.

I also think the organizers did a great job and picked an awesome park that was huge and nice with the capacity to hold an event like this. Great job and thanks for putting in the time, I like those signs you all made for everyone. Hope you all can make it down to DC sometime so we can hold another big meet.

Also O_NO thanks a lot for the cooking.......you were grilling for at least an hour straight for the NGC when we arrived and who knows how long before that for the other two clubs......much appreciated.

In the words of Rodney King....

Can't we all just get along??????

Everything that was planned for went pretty flawlessly. We have meets where there wasn't enough parking, where cops busted our chops even with a permit, where we couldn't blink, etc.

There is always something to learn and build on! END OF DISCUSSION! Next time we will do name tags or do formal introductions!

Other then that, there will always be something out of our control. Let's not negate the all the great things about the meet with this BS crap. It's over!

At least a few of us got to meet a few of you guys. If the weather was cooler, the GSQUAD would have been more then happy to give the National guys an **** whooooopin at dodgeball! As it was, all the guys had to focus on dodging their own ***** while getting back into their cars! Damn Heat!!!
