wow this thread went on a different direction....i got a Z tube from my Z that I just sold, so in a way I paid about 32k for my Z tube haha. It sounds awesome at WOT, makes a pretty loud rumble, and you can tell its def not a stock intake. I love popping it into 2nd and just hearing it go crazy.

I thought it was the PC that made the whistle sound? Oh well.

I went with the ZT/PC combo b/c if you look at the stock intake tube and airbox there are 3 air bafflers, 1 in the stock airbox (all the way at the bottom, you can't see it unless you remove it) and 2 on the stock tube. I definately noticed some gains after putting them in but like some ppl said you get good results with a K&N drop in filter. Last time I dynoed it I had 232 RWHP.

After installation of z tube we tested it out and it does whistle. Maybe not the same kinda whistle you'd get from a P/C but it does whistle at wide open throttle. A year later I put in the K&N filter and felt a major difference. Seemed a bit louder and it didn't idle funny anymore.

so you will feel a difference with the Z tube and K&N filter? Would that combination put you on par with the 350z hp #'s? I know the difference is only 7 hp, but would that cut it close? also what are the major differences that allow the Z to have the 7 exrta horses?

I dunno about horses but I just put my Z tube with K&N filter and it got even louder. My coupe mid pipe and MD spacer were loud from the outside but now it's loud inside the car. I am definitely NOT getting a rear exhaust section, due to droning. My butt dyno has told me that my HP has gone up.

I got it on a group buy from m350z.com. The company is called Motordyne and the owner is real helpful. I don't know if there is one going on now, but try a search on g35driver or my350z. It was $170 shipped, but I don't know how much it is regularly. It took about 3 hours because I'm really not that comfortable under the hood and was paranoid. I hear it's about an 1 -2 hour job for those who are "mechanically inclined". I do feel it pull harder in the upper gears but that might just be in my head. I love the way it sounds though. I knew I wasn't going to blow the doors off anyone with a 5AT sedan so I thought I would just try and sound like it could
