It is not just the tread. Most of us have summer tires. The tires start to get hard and slick below 45 degrees.Plus the rear whell drive and power can be dangerous. You must be carefull.I feel you imma change to my oems.I will drive my minivan more.

If you have lots of scratches already, CG may help a little bit, but ideally CG is a preventive treatment to protect the clearcoat on your car by encasing it in a hard and clear glass like suspension. Application is alot easier than Zaino and a full application every 6 months and touch ups every 2-3 months with CG quick during your carwash is all you need.

Unfortunately, I washed my G this past weekend and it was way too cold for CG (needs to be above 50 degrees to cure properly) so I didn't bother. Gonna switch out my wheels today after work.

Outside of losing traction in snow, your summer tire compound will lose it's traction capabilities with temperatures below 45 degrees as Brian noted. This is because summer/performance tires are engineered to cope with high heat and high operating temperatures at the street/track. Colder temps make the tread blocks hard, slick, and sometimes brittle. So even without snow, driving with summer tires can be a hazard.
