Sobriety Checkpoints in Fairfax this Weekend
Sobriety Checkpoints in Fairfax this Weekend
The City of Fairfax Police Department will conduct two sobriety checkpoints beginning on Friday, June 23 from 9 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. and on June 24 between 12 a.m. to 3:30 a.m. All times are approximate and the operations are conditional on acceptable weather. The DUI checkpoints are part of a larger regional effort to deter and apprehend intoxicated drivers and to combat traffic collisions and fatalities caused by impaired drivers. Motorists at the checkpoints will be stopped and checked to assure that their ability to drive has not been impaired.
Members of the media are invited to attend this enforcement effort. Please contact the Public Information Officer before 3 p.m. or the Communications Center after that time to obtain the locations of the checkpoint.
