or you can get the sandwitch adapter without termostat so it will open all the time

I think he's asking about getting the engine fans to turn on earlier (or stay one permanently....)

Clarification please W0ady!

Unless you live in places like Alaska. Thermostat Sandwich adapter is not needed. I think the thermostat starts at lower temperature, with or without thermostat here in California does not make huge difference.

On other occasion I asked my good friends at Alfa Romeo Club of Southern California. During winter they put a cover over the oil cooler. And remove the cover when they go to Track. Which according to Jim, Thermostat adapter lowers oil pressure, going back into the engine. Jim my good friend is 95 year old, and 45 years of track experience. OLD SCHOOL, with lots of track experience.

W0ady, if it is fan, or water temperature concerns you. On my Water temperature gauge does not go up 1/2 point when I am tracking. Which stays same as my everyday normal use of my G37 Sport. It is the oil temperature that goes up and causes limp mode. I own access port and when oil temperature goes up I get signs of limp mode.

i was asking about the actual thermostat that works your radiator, etc. on the g35 it was 180 F and nismo units opened near 150 but ive really never had any oil issues. i was just looking for an easy way to cool my 7at without going to a trans cooler.

thermostat that works you cooler.....

To be honest I have no Idea. I now know that you have had no issues with Oil Temperature. But this feed is not about radiator. Radiator gauge or coolant temperature gauge can be read from your dash board. Oil temperature tends to go over the limit when you push your car to the limit. Reaching red line on RPM constantly. Causing limp mode to protect your engine.

Oil and water act different under high temperature. Water or coolant inside your radiator will cool much faster than Oil. Coolant or water will not become acidic when heated. However Oil when heated will become acidic and cause damage to your engine.

The very reason we have oil cooler is not to cool the engine temperature. However to avoid Oil from turning acidic. Limp mode is caused by oil temperature, not by engine coolant temperature.

i believe the reason i havent had oil issues is because i dont shift a lot or run at high rpm's constantly because i have trans issues when i do.
