G37x sedan lowering questions
I just lowered my 11 g37xs sedan with Swifts springs (new $299 Ebay). I love the drop and the ride is great, only a little stiffer. I got it aligned and yes, you should get front and rear camber kits ($500) or your tires will suffer. My car was -1.75 front and -2.25 rear camber after the springs were installed, the front camber is not adjustable and the rear camber was adjusted to -1.5 after the 4 wheel alignment. The Megan springs are a little cheaper on Amazon and drop a little more, this will make your camber even worse. This is a $1000 venture to correctly lower your G.
Here is how it will sit after springs:

The labour cost is higher than doing coils because the front suspension is a bit of a nightmare to take apart. 4-6 hours vs about 2-3 hours total.
Even going down 1.2-1.4 inches you will need rear toe bolts. Rear camber arms are not necessary, but recommended, you will be about -2º camber. Fronts will be at about -2.5º, totally drivable, great for cornering, but will wear tires faster. Front toe bolts are also a toss up, some cars get away without them, some need them, its a bit weird how it differs from car to car, but thats the general consensus looking at this over the past 8 years.
Price wise, you're looking at around $300-400 for swift springs (on awd, I wouldn't recommend any others, best ride and even drop. Eibach sags in the rear and Tein rides too soft. I don't have experience with Megan Racing). If having the work done by a shop, assuming $100/hour average rate, about $500 in labour for just the spring install. All the other adjustment arms vary by price, looking at medium quality parts, probably another $400-600 with today's pricing. Plus any extra labour that you're not doing yourself.
A lot of variables, so you could be anywhere from $1-2k. Also, expect to go through a few front cv axels in the coming years, I've replaced the driver side twice and passenger side once since going lower (7 years now). The geometry change stresses the rubber boots a bit more so they wear a little faster, but thats a common AWD thing.
