Should I mod the car?
Hey guys, so long story short I used to have a WRX STI and with my brother turning 18, I decided to give him my car. On the car all I had done was an ECU mod, exhaust and an intake. So I picked up a g37x sedan 2013 for a really good price, the problem is that it is automatic so I'm not sure if the tranny can handle mods. I kinda wanted to get it from the stock 328 HP to 420-440 range. Just wondering what mods did you guys do and can an automatic transmission handle it? Or should I pick up a new car and just use this as a DD? Did you guys prefer to turbo charge or super charge it? Thanks for the help and suggestions guys!

I love how you're doing your research AFTER you bought the car lol
Well I won't sugar coat it for you, the G37X is probably the worst platform you could have chosen for modding. Unless you're willing to spend very big bucks, I don't see 400+hp happening. And given it's an X, there isn't a lot of R&D done on them meaning you won't have a lot of aftermarket support.
Enjoy the car as is, slap a set of mufflers on to make the car sound faster and call it a day. If you're not happy with the power level, get rid of it asap.

i can tell you that achieving that kind of power wont happen unless you FI it
the best you can do without dropping a lot of money is making it look pretty and sound nice. even doing those two things your options are very limited because of the AWD... If only I could go back and do it all over again I would have picked up a coupe and non AWD

Level 10 in NJ seems to have sorted out the transmission issue, may want to look into what they're doing.
If I get bored and have a couple (read 12/15) thousand floating around I'll TT mine. But if I need to do that Ill more than likely look into an FD.

I have a X coupe, and I, too, am finding options limited. That being said, there are options and it is possible to build up the car. To get to the power level you're looking for, I'm finding that most people recommend FI.
