Battery charge while using Cobb AP

Battery charge while using Cobb AP
I got hold of a Cobb AP, the battery died while saving the factory ecu settings and luckily it was able to save the file and smart enough to not continue on. So I charged the car and almost same thing happened again while loading one of the maps.
Cobb AP needs the car to be in 'ON' and this leaves the dashboard, touch screen and the fog lights (DRLs) ON, these seem to drain the battery within that 15 - 20 min time needed for flash new map or save the factory one.
I was able to flash a new map but is this common with this?

With the gen 3, hfc, CBE and ecu flashed to Stage 2 using Cobb, the car seemed responsive but not much. I monitored the a/f readings, and they were all over the place not getting below 14.
Since ecu reset is recommended when mods are done, I didn't do this initially after the flash but I did that yesterday, man it pulls harder now and it feels like its more tuned. Shifts are better, DS mode is awesome but not as responsive as before in D mode.
I'll check out Stock style and other stages. Dyno runs would help but they're about 4 hours from where I am. And I was planning to get a custom map with the Cobb, still debating on this.
About the battery drain, I've turned off the Navi screen and I didn't know I can do that, and since I got DRL's running in ON mode for a US bought car, I'll just unplug them. This should help to extend the battery charge.

Canadian cars have factory built in DRL. I imported my car to Canada from U.S so I had to add DRL. It works fine but doesn't turn off when parking brake is ON as thats the proper functionality.
