Will an aftermarket clutch void warranty?

Hey guys. My clutch is about to give out. I have an 09 G37S coupe manual. I bought the car used with about 10,000 miles on it and the guy who drove it before me really did some damage to the clutch after selling it back to the dealer. I was just wondering if an aftermarket and more heavy duty clutch will void my warranty on powertrain/transmission.

Any suggestions/comments/concerns?

Thank you!

An aftermarket clutch would not affect you warranty in most cases. Wear parts like clutches and brake pads, and tires are not covered under a warranty. If however, you needed your transmission replaced under warrranty and they (dealership) could prove that the failure was due to clutch failure or improper install of said clutch. Then your warranty for the transmission only would be voided. '09 already needing a clutch is bad real bad. Unless you are planning on adding a lot of power upgrades I would stick to stock clutch and flywheel because this will not be the last time your car is gonna need to go to the shop from the way it was abused. That way if it is a non wear item that gets busted it is covered under warranty.

oh man the master cylinder. that's a big problem. i guess sticking to the stock clutch is the way to go? the stock flywheel setup is too heavy. that's one thing that bothers me.

thank you all for your inputs. Black Betty I appreciate that link and I am quite interested in the new JWC setup with that CSC sleeve. and just making sure a g37 clutch setup is identical to a 370z's?

Yes. You realize that the JWT clutch is just a modified stock clutch don't you?
