Dealers will cut down your warranty if you get any mod close to the engine they just need a reason to do so.

I know a lot of people are scared of lossing their warranty but if the dealer tells you that you have voided the warranty you have to make them prove it. They have to put it in writing. You throw the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act at them and say prove it. Some may follow through but most will not bother with the paperwork. It is not worth their time and effort to try and fight a repair (within reason) and god forbid risk a court appearance.
