i'm assuming most of you guys are using synthetic in your cars, but my altima needs to be "winterized" before i bring it there and i just put regular oil in it.

should i use 5w-30 since it's thinner? what do you guys use if you do your own oil changes?

 

I would recommend 5-30 thats what I use and I believe a bunch of others use. I run conventional because thats what the previous owner of my car said the Infiniti tech said to run when the new motor was put in.

I like to run either valvoline or castrol usually.

 

I was cruising around in the Forester last night all over downtown... then I got lost LOL was an interesting night.

 

So should I risk it and do 35% in the front windows or just do 50%???

 

I would say risk it. I too is in the position you are in. I cant decide, I am leaning towards 40/50%. I can't get a fix it ticket, my mom would kill me. If my mom didn't care I would end up getting 30% tint.

 

You already have like 20 percent on your back, its gonna make the fronts look darker to begin with. Remember that... ALONG with black interior..

 

Yeah I don't know if I want to deal with the hassle. I will probably just do 50 as I could get in trouble for the back windows now anyways....
