I am having an issue with my 2010 G37x sedan. The car cranks but will not start. After running diagnostics and checking continuity & voltage between wires to/from the fuel pump and other parts of the car, I've determined that either the IPDM is bad (as stated in the FSM troubleshooting section) or the ECM is bad. I was hoping to try to get my hands on another working IPDM and/or ECM to test in my car before I go out and spend $1,000+.

I know it's a tall order, but would anyone be willing to lend an IPDM and/or ECM from your G37x so I can see which part, if any, I will need to replace? I totally understand if not; I just wanted to take a chance here first. I am located in St. Louis, MO.

Its a 2010, isn't it under warranty?

 

It is not under warranty. I bought the car wrecked (salvage) and I'm fixing it up myself.

 

Good luck. Asking to use someone's working electrical component out of their running car is a tall order indeed. There's always the chance that you could fry it while testing your car and then they'd be screwed.

Have you tried finding the parts at a local salvage yard much cheaper than buying new ones?

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately, a lot of the salvage yards around here do not carry "newer" cars. With it being an Infiniti, aka a luxury brand, that doesn't help either.

I know I'm asking a lot, but I'm really not expecting anyone to help me out; thought I'd take a chance though. It has worked for me in the past. I have a '91 Stealth that was having similar problems as my G37x. I asked to borrow an ECM from someone on 3si.org. This guy came over, helped me install & test, & we found out that the problem was indeed the ECM. I repaired my ECM and I was good to go, and his car was not affected at all.

Again, I know what COULD happen if something were to go awry, but if someone did happen to have one available, say in a salvage car they weren't driving, I'd be happy to offer compensation for the chance to test it in my car.

i also bought wrecked g37 and you would be suprised how many parts for 2010 infiniti you can find there.
