Exclamation Couple of Questions to the Experts in the Forum

Hi guys..

As I have already posted a thread about my modifications, which are the Stillen gen 3 intakes and the ART test pipes..

1) When should I clean the intake filters, I mean after how many Kms or after how many months.. and how and what should I use..

2) By installing the test pipes only.. Is it Ok ?? I mean, will it harm my engine. ??
(I just want to clarify that I only replaced the stock test pipes only with the ART ones, not the whole exhaust system )

3) Also I need to know if anyone knows how much horsepowers / Torque does the ART pipes & the Stillen Gen 3 Intakes add ??
cause as I heard, the ART Pipes add 15 BHPs and the Intakes add 7 BHPs ?!!

PS:
My average yearly mileage is ~20.000 Kms (12.500 miles)

thank you

I believe the filters are a every 5000 miles. Get the K & N kit at the auto store if you dont have one and follow the directions. The test pipe will probably throw a CEL which doesnt matter if you dont have to get an emissions test.

The art pipes aren't suppose to throw a cel but it could happen . Also while installing the pipes be careful not to bang the sensors or they will shatter and cause you to have a cel. That's what happened with my install. But since replacing the sensor no engine check light

the k and n filters need to be cleaned every 5-7k miles depending on which intake you have the gen 3 long tube will be sooner due to placement.... the test pipes may or may not throw a check engine light depending on the placement of the o2 sensor.... i have the ark test pipes and have not thrown a code...

no they wont harm your engine....less airflow restriction means youll be able to get more back end torque and horse power to the wheels

Make sure you research K&N filters before you buy them. I have seen info on here as well as many other forums I frequent. After you research them you can make your own judgment.

it will not harm your engine at all, if you wanted to you can even get a uprev tune to get the most out of your art pipes

What Stillen intakes? If the Gen 3... I believe the interval maintenance is longer than 5k miles.
The ART pipes shouldn't throw a check engine/cel. Obvisusly installing a full exhaust system with the test pipes would be ideal. However, installing just the ART pipes won't hurt anything.

Don't expect a 15whp gain. Those numbers are only obtained by adding a full exhaust system and under the manufacturer modificiactions. Look at the posted DYNO results and hopefully they listed what was done to the car. Some performance companies actually post weather conditions from the testing day(s).

Your car will without a doubt breath better and feel quicker with the pipes. Don't expect 15whp
