HKS vs. ARK

Have some questions. In regarding to the G37 IPL, what is a better the better exhaust for it? I've been told by various companies that the IPL exhaust is same connections as the G37S, so the exhausts should be interchangable. Can someone confirm this?

Clips I've seen online, they tend to both sound like a very deep tone V6, and both are very impressive. Is one preferred over the other? Please do not factor price into this.

I've found that HKS is no longer being sold domestically, what Japanese companies can you use in order to get one imported?

Which pipes fit more flush? Which has better fitment with the bumper?

Which has a larger outlet pipe? It appears the HKS does, but if someone could confirm that, I'd greatly appreciate it.

How about customer support?

Your help would be greatly appreciated.

I'd choose HKS over ARK any day, but there are others who will say ARK.

If you do decide to go with HKS, I have a brand new one for sale... Shoot me a PM if you want it.

First off, HKS is a JDM product, so it'll be flawless. There are plenty of places to buy it here in the US and get it delivered within a week or so. If price is no difference to you, definitely go with the HKS. The HKS will also have better fitment--almost guaranteed--becuse Ark has lots of issues with the canisters/tips alignment. I'm saying this from pictures that I've seen. There is a reason why HKS is more pricey: It has original design behind it, and it'll fit much better around your bumper, too. Additionally, I've heard many times that the burnt tips on the HKS last much better and don't turn brown as Ark's do overtime; that would be a major factor for me.

There was a forum member here who recently got an HKS and posted like 30 pictures from the welds to the fitment. I looked over everything and it was flawless. Ark is a great exhaust, but, IMO, HKS is better. It's one of the top exhausts available for our cars--for any car which has one, for that matter.

By the way, the IPL and the S exhausts are different, as for as I know. The IPL is a true-dual from Nismo, whereas the S is a factory one from Infiniti. They probably do have exact same fitment, though, because Nismo replicates a perfect fit, so I believe they will be interchangeable.

Love the HKS, but I have no experience with other aftermarket "cat backs." Good luck with your research.

If you have the cash available Go with HKS. It is the original design. If not ARK is a good replica of it.

I don't care who says ARK is original design, it's a replica.

HKS ftw.

Sorry to burst your jdm bubble but the hks is not flawless . Had it on my g and would never buy or spend that amount of money on their exhaust ever again. There are many threads on the hks and ark comparison . I also had ark as well. If I had to pick between the 2 again it would be ark.

^ Care to clarify?

I'm pretty I remember when you originally got you ARK exhaust and you made a post about how terrible the welds were and that they didn't even seal it together causing an exhaust leak.. Why the change of heart?

Yes! Thanks, Sco1oter. That is exactly what I was talking about.

Provided that you get a good HKS, it will be flawless or next-to-flawless. Not every system they make is 100%. Moreover, an HKS will be, by far, still more flawless than its replica, although the replica is good.
By the way, no JDM bubble for me. I run a FI cat-back, if you haven't noticed. Whichever way you put it, JDM is always better than Korean. And lastly, this is purely my opinion, as is yours.

I have to say, though, Ark does sound much better than the HKS. In that respect, it wins.

I had HKS on my Z still I would take it over ARK but wouldn't waist $$$ on either, it's not Worth the price tag to me. It just has a High pitched sound like a loud Fart can lol. I'm like more bass and throatiness with my catbacks! I say you look into Fast Intentions MXP or Tanabe over both those .
