An Intake with Low End Gains?

My dealer recommended the Stillen Gen 2, based on my own preference of getting an intake with low/mid gains rather than high end gains.

The Stillen G2 seems like a good compromise, since everybody in general is so down on SRIs. I also want to stay away from CAIs since the filter is tucked away and hard to change.

Is there any intake options for me if I want to focus on the lower range? I just don't drive highway enough to benefit from high end gains. I plan to add an axle back muffler, but keep the Cat and exhaust (piping) stock.

If you're only considering SRI, probably not.

If you're willing to consider CAI, probably yes.

Which one is more important? Easy filter change, which you only need to do every few months + enjoy more low end gain every time when you're in the car

OR

Easy filter change + zero low wend gain every time you're in the car + heat soak?

Get the intakes to enjoy the benefits (sound+performance), not to enjoy the ease of changing the filters

The Stillen Gen3 filters are really not hard to change...I don't know why everyone has this idea that the are impossible to change lol

Plus they really only need to be changed MAYBE 1x/year

The takedas when i had them on the car were great. Nice roar after 4k rpm. very noticeable. and the throttle response was much better after the 3rd day of having them with the ecu adjusted to them

Does anyone have an opinion on the Stillen Gen2?

I'm really looking for low-end power, aren't the Stillen Gen3 in the high-end power range? (never found a DIY for changing filters)

I've got the Stillen Gen-2... I definitely noticed low end improvement over stock.
Other than my passenger side filter slipping off... ( I blame my neighbor who did that side) I think he had a hard time getting the box in the slot.

I love the Stillen G2... I'm not on the Highway too much either, and I love em.

Somebody else posted screenshots of that Fact or Fiction article about intakes and power gains. Here's the links again.

In their case the AEM CAI gave a pretty nice torque and HP boost all around, low end and high. But that was on a VQ35, on a Zed. And the SRIs were no help at all -- even gave a slight loss in power.

I don't know if AEM makes one for the 3.7 yet. And the 3.5 has a single intake, I think -- so I'm not sure how relevant it is. From what I understand Infiniti did a pretty nice job engineering the OEM intakes, which means there isn't a whole lot to be gained there.

Not really, Stillen stage 2 is part of stage 3.

Stage 3 is just a longer version(without the heatsoak of stage 2)since inside the engine bay.

I had both do the stage 3, will increaase plenty from bottom.

It creates more velocity, hence more usuable airflow resulting in more hp.

The longer the tube the higher the velocity, if it is 2 1/2 inch diamiter.

If its 3 inches in diamiter odds are you will loose power.

Bigger pipping is not the way to go on this intake, our cars respond better with the 2 1/2 piping.
