This is what's keeping me from buying an intake

This is from cobb tunings access port PDF:

YOU MUST
USE THE FACTORY INTAKE SYSTEM ONLY... The Infinity [sic] G37 & G37S intake system flows very well and promotes a laminar
air flow across the MAF sensor.

Not because i want an access port, but because they basically state that the stock intake is perfect. That, and i've read other forum members who have dyno'd their cars state that there havent been any gains. All that money for an improved engine note? I dunnooooo. Thoughts?

I felt a big difference when I put on my stillen gen 3s. I think the after market intakes are better depending on which one you buy.

I agree that the sound is a great bonus, but I felt a much harder pull and better high end power.

Having a fairly extensive aeronautical engineering background, I can tell you that simply stating that the OEM intake "promotes a laminar flow over the MAF" in no way means it is perfect.

They're basing that theory on short ram intakes which I can see being true. A cold air intake will make more gains then a stock airbox with drop-in filters.

I was about to buy the Stillen Gen 2 intake
Not the Ultra Long Gen 3 but the Gen 2 which sits just about
where the Stock box is located. I gotta believe it does a bit
better than the stock box, with better filters and such...NO?
