Intake resonators? Whaaa?

So I was installing my Injen CAI and the instructions showed pictures of intake resonators that needed to be removed, but I didn't have them in the first place? There were also a couple brackets they showed I didn't have either - maybe they had a prototype or early 08 and since then these have been removed from the G37?

I spent a good 30 mins trying to figure out what the hell these resonators were and decided they don't exist - terrible directions!

So your crank case hoses connected directly into the stock intake and not a c shaped plastic box that's bolted on the engine on the passenger side and then from it into the intake? Think it was a L shaped smaller box on the drivers side. Can't imagine they changed that but then it's not like they're needed.

Naw I have those, it was two plastic boxes BELOW the stock intake boxes but I don't have em. I'm thinking its just crappy directions or a protoype car they had because I have no idea where they'd even have space for the resonators?

TJ, you do have them. You have to have them, unless it's a defect from the factory. Those are the resonator, not the small boxes by the engine, connected to the rubber hose.

The resonators should be directly below the intake box. If you remove your intake box, you'll see that the bottom of the box is connected to the resonator. Take a look at the injen CAI review thread I made a while back, there are pics.

At least you got instructions. My Injen didn't come with any at all. I had to wing it.

So I'm confused... Our stock intakes have resonators? And if so, can we possibly remove these resonators and make the stock intake sound mean?? haha, just thinking of the possibilities

You dont have them . Those instructions are for early G37. I spent 30 minutes trying to locate those too. Most people will not have them ..

I didn't have stock resonator either. I thought danny was blazed when he made the DIY but I don't think late 08 models have it
