Stock air filters any good?

I was thinking of getting K&N ASAP, but are the stock paper air filters decent or the same as any other for OEM

Although 2 K&Ns would be over 1 hundred while one CAI would be 300...

Amsoil Nano-Fiber is the best. I think they have them for the G37 now.

That's all I got on mine and a HFC. Our intake system is pretty much like a CAI already just needed a better filter than the paper it came with.

I got K&N's air filters, its a cheap and simple upgrade that you can do right when you get the car. Just until you can afford to buy some Intakes.

Go in my opinion it depends how long you think it will be before you buy some intakes.

Good luck.

Get K&N if not upgrading your intake, otherwise spend that money on a real CAI.

Oil type filters require more maintenance. The stock filter (or any paper) filter will flow better after a few thousand miles.

A properly cleaned the oil type filter will flow better, but for a short period of time. That is the reason most manufactures switched to paper type filters many years a go.

Also my personal experience is a lot of people over-oil these filters and you end up with oil residue in the intake and throttle body which is bad.

I plan to stick to paper type stock Nissan filter for at least the warranty period unless it gets turned into a track car ,
