If you are looking to increase sound with a little bit of performance and not spend too much, then Resonated test pipes are the way to go. They will help reduce rasp over the straight test pipes...

the resonated test pipes will supress more sound over the non-resonated test pipes. Although the computer will try to compensate for any changes such as intake or exhaust, and will recalabrate the motor to as close to stock as posible. you will have performance gains but not as much as you would hope for.

I got the straight FI TPs and I love the sound, esp with the FI catback matched to it

They both have advantages & disadvantages.

HFC Pro's - you're legal or "semi" legal in most states. Quieter. Won't have the typical test pipe smell.

Cons - more expensive, a tiny bit less power than test pipes

Test pipe Pros' - less expensive, more power

Cons - louder, 100% illegal in all states, test pipe smell (it's debateable weather this is really bad or not)

Non resonated test pipes are by far your loudest option. This is also commonly known as: (straight test pipes)

Now what a good resonator does, is cut down rasp and interior noise resonance without sacrificing power and torque. In the process making the car slightly quieter inside and out...
