Would cutting the OEM air duct cause a problem if one decided to put the stock air boxes back on though??

What's the vroom noise between shifts, sounds like the rpm is not transitioning smoothly? Is that just the shifting?

Btw, sounds gooooooood.

Again, it's not necessary, BUT, in my 2 installations I have noticed that if I don't trim the Air Duct, it gets a little higher, so it still gets enough air from the duct, but not as much as if you trim the duct (Not cutting the whole duct, I'm talking about cut some little piece on the right side), because doing this I've been able to adjust the filter so it goes almost perfectly aligned to the Air duct, so it gets the maximum air possible.

In a summary, not needed but once you are installing it you'll decide if you need it or not, and if you do it, then, NO, it won't affect anything if you put the OEM intake back as it won't be noticed, it will be covered or hidden completely by any of these setups.

Hey erasat, take some pics of this and post it if you can. I am not sure what you are exactly talking about and others might be thinking the same.

JEJE, maybe it's just a language barrier issue, remember that I'm a spanish speaker primary and maybe not even a fully Bi-Lingual, and sometimes it gets hard for me to translate some terms.

BUT, tell me exatly what area you need and I will take a look when I get home and take some pictures for you.

The area to trim is in Step 4 of the instructions. Look at the pics, it says trim as needed.

Thanks Mikenicco, that's exactly what I was talking about. As you can see on Page 3 in the Step 4, you should "Trim corners as needed". BUT, like I've mentioned before, you can install it without trimming (Perfect for a Lease Car), but you will notice that it gets a little higher than the other side. So as a test, I removed my tube (Just the passenger's side, took me 5 minutes) then using a blade I trimmed it just like in that picture, and when I installed the tube back I noticed that it went lower that it was before, and making that, it aligns a lot better with the Air duct, so the intake will get more direct air than before.

So as you can see, you decide if you want to trim or not , but seeing that it's just a small area that is not visible anyway, I recommend most of you without a Lease to trim that side. And for the lease guys, well, take a close look when installing and judge by yourself if you should do it or not.

It looks like a tiny piece of rubber. If you reinstall the factory intakes, noone would ever know you trimmed it.

That was my thinking as well. Mine is a lease and I trimmed it. You can't tell its cut w/the factory intakes on.

Ohhh the tough decision, to circumcize or to not circumsize, the things we have to decide for our babies (G37's).
