You might be able to take it out without cutting it. I thought it was one piece, so I ended up tearing it up. Try to slide the brown sensor out by itself (its separate from the black rubber ring). Then just squeeze the rubber ring out. I can't tell you for sure if its possible to take it out without cutting it...didn't have the patience to play with it, lol.

Still looks better than what happened to my stock shift **** -->
