Photo Request(intake install)

can anyone doing an intake install from now till next week take some nice detailed and close up pics of the engine bay, under the car, behind the bumper, in wheel well, and any other feature areas? I am working with a few techs and mechanics to figure out a "modification" to help these damn CAI's breath better. Either custom air vents somewhere or a redirection for the tubing. I appreciate it and i hope to get something going for us Injen owners.

Im also open for some ideas

the best idea imho, would be to open up those gills in the bumper and put mesh there, or to put a foglight with a vent for air to the filter!!! id buy it! =0)

the only way its gunna flood is if you completely submerge the filter...and if your driving in a foot of water, then ummm theres a problem, not with the car, but in ur head..lol...

i know there are unexpected floods, but usually not that deep...ya know???

if water wants in, its gunna get in...the front grill is open....

y not install a electric supercharger??? lol..

i dont think the fan idea is good enuff or strong enuff 2 push the amount of air it needs when moving, it might actually block the proper air from gettin in 2 the filters...

^That is funny because that's what my friend said and what I thought about at first. But if you think about it more, that gets COMPLICATED and hard to produce to make a profit since chargers don't seem like the simplest things to make efficiently.

hopefully the path wouldn't be sealed.. because if the compressor motor failed, you'd have a problem.

Here's a sketch I was working on this morning. I could have a plastics and fiberglass shop make a mold.

But yea I don't think the fan would not be strong enough to provide enough volume or speed. Compressor might though.

Great idea. Good luck

How about a small turbine forcing air into the plenum. Wait I think someone may have already made something like that.

I can't see your pic since photobucket doesn't work for me at work but I'll check it at when I get home. I thought about a fail-safe mechanism in case the motor fails and also a secondary outlet to get air from, now i just wish we can open a private thread on this forum so it's not open to the world, ideas?
