Its not that...I just don't want anymore excuses.

Does Lou have a dyno? He installs them anyways. Why don't we just get him to dyno before and after his next install?

I agree that a baseline as close as possible timewise would be best, but you still need time to have the ECU learn the new setup. Need to drive around HARD for a while to really let the programming adjust. The ECU isn't like some on/off switch.

If anything, I'd imagine the ECU would take away the gains overtime...readjusting a/f etc back to factory specs.

Depends on how this ECU decides to respond (I have no idea which way it will go). My baseline average A/F ratio was 11.6, which I thought was kinda high. But since I'm gonna be running 100oct regularly anyway, I was hoping that this would convince the ECU to let it run leaner, thus resulting in more overall power.

I'll personally paypal you $15 dollars towards it, anyone else willing to chip in and get this done and put all the arguements to rest?
Or if gamedog's willing to get a 3rd party dyno i'll personally pay for the whole thing.
Really? PM me your number.... Let's talk...

How come when Injen was claiming the numbers they didn't put a disclaimer that if you have other mods you will see lower numbers. I would think a major company like Injen would have tested a G37 with mods and a G37 without mods. Weren't they running tests for the intakes for months and months, I would think that it would give them enough time to run accurate tests on both. Inflating numbers is one thing(even though thats still wrong) but all company's do it, but to delibratly flat out lie to have an excuse to charge people more money is just low class. I wonder if you could make a case through the Better Business Bureau. Injen knows that people will dyno their cars with their product, so do they just not give a **** or did they make a mistake.

Because its common knowledge. Seems like most of this community doesn't understand the fact you can't add gains cumulatively.

I'd like to see anyone show a graph on any car where bolt-on modification gains add cumulatively w/o tuning. It doesn't happen.

Different variables in cars (like heat soak) throw it off. They affect each car differently. Even being SAE corrected, its still best to have similar testing conditions.

As far as Injen they need to re-think this ,,, and come up with a good and proven solution

Relax, get the intakes (they look cool anyway). Add headers, HFC, and an exhaust....get your sh*t reflashed or wait for COBB......and have a blast. Go by feel not dyno's....

I do appreciate the technical imput though...but we need to remember this is suppose to be fun.

My husband and I were discussing this issue with the CAI's, and the dyno results. My husband remineded me that he has no idea where they are taking the air from because theres only a little hole in the bottoim of the pocket. And any other air thats going to be pulled inside would have to be hot air from the engine. It actually doesn't make any sense. If we go back and look at our original system we are pulling air through the grill into the air system. We also noticed after taking a ride, the car is starting to run a little warmer, how we noticed that is the car feels a little sluggish. So we came into the house and had a cup of coffee and discussed it once more. Made a few phone calls to some friends that we know that are running pro stock cars and they also agree that any air that we are going to get in there is going to be hot. Earlier today my husband called up Injen and Jerry didn't have a real answer so my husband asked him what he would think if we took out the baffles and that directly in front of the air filter, and he said that would surely help. The picture below shows the small hole thats inside the pocket to bring air into the system, and the only other air to be brought in is from the engine compartment which is hot. After some careful thought, we came up with a solution. Stay tuned. Thursday you will see what we did. And they don't involve the injens. Hey listen everyone, our cars need air to run.
I am thinking....take the fake brake ducts out, connect tubes to the stock air intake inlets and have true RAM air...just need to find a way to get more fuel to go with it.
