*Injen Intake Installed With Pics & Dyno*
We should change this thread to a special "please hook me up/begging" section. Anyone know the pricing for sure yet? and where is the group buy sign up? If this set up is under $550 sign me up immediately
Yep, a buzz noise is exactly what I got.
I brought up a similar concern that people thought using the two front inlets for a ram air setup, people thought the engine would get flooded. What about in other ram air setups ala Trans Am, they seem to be working fine. Ram air on a TA may be located on the hood, but if it's pooring rain, I'm sure considerable water could enter.
Ok, so how much $$$ and how much longer??? I have had my car for just over a week and been on this forum for a few days and I already want this bad boy on my car....
I have this weird impluse to M O D I F Y my G....

The group buy list needs to be LARGE

I wouldn't totally ignore the Hydrolock issue. Actually, it's one of my main concerns with this intake and might prevent me from purchasing it. I've seen first hand a few times what can happen.
There's a reason AEM sells their device to prevent water from being sucked up. It's a real issue. Dealers can also investigate such an issue and deny your warranty. I'm not sure I want to risk that.

Injen has a solution for this problem... It's called a HydroShield... It repels water from being sucked up into your intake but doesnt make it waterproof... Meaning don't drive thru puddles and expect to not have problems... I'll see if this is included in our kit or not. If it isn't, i'll try and see if I can make it be...

The down side to both these items, the aem bypass valve and the injen cover is that they do slow and restrict air. so you will not see maximum gains when using these devices. Hydrolock is a way over rated problem that people make into something bigger then it is. Its all about how you drive and how well you know your area. If your area floods to the point where you could submerge your filter which needs to be pretty damn deep then it might be worth it. But it doesnt flood like that where i live. I had an aem cai on my S2000 for a while and my car was slammed and i never had an issue and i drove through some puddles.
I agree 100%... Our ecu is so touchy that I told them NOT to install that HydroShield for restriction concerns... And I honestly think that AEM thing would be worse... I mean if it matters how much the Air Flow Sensor sticks into the intake, (see how tall the spacers are for the AFS's in my pics?) I'm guessing that these will restrict power and lead to loss of power rather than gains... I could be wrong though...
I had a K&N CAI on my 2004 G35 coupe for about 2 years with no Hydrolock and did not have any issues. Actually drove through pretty deep flood on the freeway and no problem.
Like everyone else says, don't be stupid and drive through deep puddles.
