Break-in question

I noticed that my buddy's 335i exhaust has "opened up" and become much louder and deeper at all times. He has about 2000 miles on his car. I absolutely love the G37 exhaust so much more but I was wondering if my car will also get louder and deeper after break-in and aggressive driving? Btw I only have 700 miles on her now.

Personally, I think G35C (previous owned) sounds louder than G37S.

I agree but I enjoy the G37 being a little bit quiter so I'm not complaining.

Why do you guys say that the exhaust gets louder? Does it really have anything to do with the exhaust or is it just the engine producing a bit more power after break-in? To me the exhaust sounded louder in the beggining. I could have just gotten used to it by now but I really only hear a difference when its cold (first few minutes of driving).

yes it will. as the exhaust gets more wear, the materials inside the pan change some what which will give the tone and such different levels. you will notice it.
