There's more to the G35's exhaust. The G37's just axle back and should be less.. I'm hoping around $700.

Ya 1G is a lot of money for just an axle back system.

I'm hoping it's not that much. I will ask about a group buy as soon as they post a price; when I spoke with Tanabe early this week there was still no release date.

^^When are you going to get your car dynoed? Just want to see what numbers you are putting up even though we don't have the numbers you had before the install.

Well I decided to just hold off because I have no accurate way of knowing the gains. Tanabe did dyno my car and I posted the gains they told me 8hp/7tq. (I was not given a copy of the dyno sheet for privacy reasons and the kit wasn't even in production at the time).
I figured I'd wait till they release the kit, then I'm sure they will post their dyno chart. (Since I know it will be based on my car) I will then dyno my car and compare it to their before and after numbers because I will then know the stock power they are basing their gains off.
I figure that's the best way to help members out, unless you have a better idea?

8/7 certainly sounds reasonable considering the fact that FI got 11/8 with a cat back system. I just want to see the curve to make sure we are not losing down low with this system.

I am either going to get an intake, or exhaust but not both. I think that once you go with one or the other if you then try to add the oposite you don't get enough gains for your money to justify it (at least not for me). If you already have an intake then the 8/7 gains over stock turn into just 5/3 over your car with an intake in addition to needing an ECU reflash.

I'm in for a group buy on the Medalion Touring exhaust. I'm also interested in the Sustec Pro 5 active suspension, can you ask them if they plan to release a G37 version?

8HP / 7Tq sounds a little ambitious for only an axle back. I've seen the G37 exhaust ... the tubing (which necks down to less than 2" at some spots) in the front section after the cats and the section with the resonators are what I believe really chokes down the flow and is where most of the power loss is.

I would better believe the numbers if you were actually there watching them do the pulls because there are too many ways to "tweak" the results. For example, are they comparing the true average of the runs or are they doing "best to worse" which is the best run with their cat back vs the worse run stock.

The thing about not getting the dyno sheet was a little fishy too. What could be so proprietary about it?

I have nothing against Tanabe, but as with any other manufaturer ... I'd prefer verification of the results by an independent source such as yourself.

IMO, one should first look objectively at the ratio of HP/$ to help decide if a mod is worth it. Then throw in the subjective stuff like sound quality, looks, etc.
