Picking up my G tomorrow!

I'm picking My OB w/ black interior tomorrow, fully loaded except the tech! I can't wait...sucks that I'll be stuck at work tomorrow being completely unproductive thinking about going to the dealer to pick her up and probably just reading forums all day.

I'm switching over from an RX8...I really loved that car, but after a few years, you kind of get tired of it and you just want something new.

What do you guys think of the break in period? <3k for the first 1k miles and stay below 60? That's going to be tough...real tough!

You guys do alota meets in the NJ area?

Congrats, I had two finals the day before I picked up my G, it was really hard to focus!!

As far as a break-in, I recommend ~500 miles of laxed driving, speed is not the issue but rather the RPMs. After a tank or two of gas, get an oil change, and let er rip. It's all up to you how you WANT to break it in but its not necessary to follow Infiniti recommendations.

6MT...you can't drive these cars with an AT (no offense to people that do, though).

I'll post pics after I pick it up and get a chance to take some.

just my two pennies...but break it in like the manual suggests...nothing over 4K for 1200 or so....what's the rush? they recommend this for a reason...I know there's a million different opinions by the some of the "experts" we have here...but they aren't going to pay your voided warranty costs or for anything else that may or may not go wrong because you couldn't wait for a couple weeks to break it in right....

if you hammer it now and something happens...then you'll always wonder if the impatience to beat on it was worth it after all...

congrats on your new car by the way...and welcome to the forum....6MT...yea baby....

Thanks guys! I left work early to go pick it up...I didn't have a chance to take pics yet though. I bought it with the spoiler but they had to order it, so when they get it in I have to go back and have them put it on.

This car is amazing...I definitely feel the weight difference from the RX8, but this thing feels like it's on rails. I was thinking about ignoring the break in period, but then I looked at the 17 mile figure on the odo and thought pushing the car would be like taking a 2 week old baby and forcing him to run full speed...so I'm just going to try to be good for a while. Man...it's not easy keeping that needle under 3k...especially when I'm used to shifting at 8k+.

Well I'm going to try to take some pics tomorrow...I kinda want to take tomorrow off and enjoy it, but...we do have a 3 day weekend coming up.
