Problem with a warning light and seat heating/vent
Hi everyone,
I've got two problems with my G37 convertible bought recently.
1- A warning light (Under the needle on the picture) is continuously lit with no other consequence but it's frustrating because I don't know what it means and I didn't find it in the operator's manual...
2- The heating and ventilation of the passenger seat doesn't work. When I turn it on, the control button light turns red and goes out after a few seconds.
Apart from these problems, I'm really very happy with this car, it's a good one !
Someone to help me please ?
Thx
First, congratulations on your new toy and welcome to the forum.
As you are in France I assume your car is EU-spec? As such, that lamp does not exist on US-spec cars. I can only guess that it refers to either a "trunk open/ajar" warning or perhaps the "Check Separator" warning. Again, I am only guessing as this indicator can not be found anywhere- online or in print. I even checked the French-version of the Owners Manual, as you did, and found nothing. I do not have/ know of any sources for non-US/ EU-spec factory manuals.
That said, are you experiencing any issues with the roof operation?
As for your seat issue, is it both seats or just driver/ passenger-side?
The driver-side seat module/ wiring has been known to have "melting" issues. This thread will have more information on that issue and how to check/ confirm/ repair.
EDITED TO ADD: Indicator is for the front hood "pop-up" system. This pedestrian safety device is mandatory in EU and JDM-spec cars (maybe Asia as well, IDK). More info at post #4 below.

Hi,
Thank you for the answer.
The roof is operating correctly, I have no issue with that. Just this warning light stays on... It's really strange that nothing is written about this in operator's manual...
Can you explain me what is the "check separator" please ?
For the heat/vent issue, thank you for the link. I will check the connections under the seat and keep you informed.
Have a nice day,
Alex
Ok, mystery solved. I have good news, maybe. First, the light is NOT for the roof at all. So you can breathe easy on that. Second, the indicator is for the "Pedestrian Pop-up" hood (bonnet) system. From the Z but the same for all Nissan models:
In EU and JDM-spec cars:
These are the actual charges/ actuators:
This system is not mandatory in the US which is why information is limited on that topic.
Was your car ever involved in a front collision? Any work done to the front bumper?
If the above do not work you might have no alternative but to take the car to the dealership or a trusted mechanic and have them diagnose the pop-up system.
As for the separator, the separator is the panel in the trunk that has to be lifted up and locked into place before the roof operation will begin. Some owners have had issues where the microswitches would not work indicating that the separator was not locked when in essence it was. You can google "check separator site:myg37.com" for more information.

First of all, I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart. My G37 was already very good, now it is perfect!
1- I managed to turn off the light thanks to the reset procedure of the actuator. I repeat it here:
1) Press twice the Start Button (Do not start the Engine, only instrumentation!)
2) wait about 7 sec, the Pop-Up light goes off ---> Press Start Button immediatly (Switch Off)
3) Press twice the Start Button (Do not start the Engine, only instrumentation!)
4) wait about 7 sec, the Pop-Up light goes off, Flashes 3 times, when goes off press Start Button immediatly (Switch Off)
5) Repeat steps 1-2-3-4
6) Press twice the Start Button (Do not start the Engine, only instrumentation!)
7) The Pop-Up light blinks slowly
😎 Turn Off
2- The seat ventilation heating control unit connector has overheated. I redid the wiring and now it works perfectly!
I want to tell you: Merci !
