I was the unfortunate recipient of a paint mod. I have always liked most modern art, but sadly this wasn't the look I was going for when it comes to my G.
I will be getting a paint job, but I was wondering if the paint from the factory was like a base/clear coat or some thing else?

 

It's a base coat/clear coat, and there's a few years that they used a self-healing clear coat.

 

I thank you for the info. I've got an 08 Coupe sport. I'm not sure if that was one of the years for that self healing clear coat or not. i've got an old friend in the car painting bizz I'll have to get him to splain it to me...lol

I think it will tell you under the hood if I remember correctly. The '08 probably has the self healing, but you can check to make sure. If you're getting it repainted, does it really matter if single stage or 2 stage originally (not that I know of any cars in the past 20 years that have single stage paint)? You'll want to get it done with 2 stage anyway.
