Oil Filter Replacement Indicator Won't Go Away

I have a 2012 G37x. I can't seem to get rid of the Oil Filter Maintenance indicator alert. It keeps coming on every time I start the car and I clear it.

I've tried resetting the oil filter maintence distance, changing the distance to a higher number, even turning off the alert. The indicator keeps coming on no matter what.

Any ideas what I can do?

I believe the exact procedure is in the owners manual.
If that doesn't work call the dealer from a cell phone while inside your vehicle and have them walk you thru the reset procedure.
If that fails, bring it in to the dealer.
BTW I have gotten lazy with doing my own oil changes. I now let the dealer do them and they turn off the reminder prior to returning my vehicle.

You are under warranty
Good luck

is this something on the newer models? I don't recall ever seeing an oil filter light.

its not a light, its an indicator warning that pops up on our dash or head unit to remind you that your scheduled maint is due.

It's rather odd that those with the Nav package have to deal with two separate maintenance alerts settings for the same thing. One in the Nav and the one in the instrument cluster. One would think that they would be sync'ed so you'd only have to mess with the Nav settings to deal with them.

actually both have to deal with it in terms of with or without nav. Every G has the dual maintenace settings, well at least all 10'+ do.

I found that two separate notifications for the same thing redundant. I just turned off the alerts in my instrument cluster. Funny thing is that it's been so long that I have forgotten how I did it.

oil engine and filter reminders

folks.
the only way i could turn the reminder off was to increase the setting to a large number.
the distance cannot be reset and i have tried and followed the procedure several times.
Will be visiting the dealer to learn or to complain depending on the advice i get there.
i could not get my homelink to connect to learn the garage door code, using the method in the manual
the tpms system reset listed here does not work either. i have an 09 g37xs.

It's a clumsy interface but if you can increase the change interval you can also reset it.
Took me a couple tries to get it figured out, I'd go back and work through it. Once the area is blacked out you just push the reset button (IIRC it's the lower button).
