My Progress Thread - 2013 G37xS Coupe
Hello All!I am Dave. I've been an active member over on Acurazine for quite some time, having owned a 2000 TL and a 2006 TL. My 06 has been modded pretty extensively, but I am at the end of that journey now.
Yesterday, I took possession of a 2013 G37xS Coupe - Black on Black, Navi, 19" wheels. I am very excited to have a new project. What I have seen over here on the G forums is quite encouraging. There are some really gorgeous cars here. I hope to make as many contributions as I can.
The G is bone stock with OEM black grille and spoiler. First mod plans include tinting the windows (35-20%) and a mild drop.
On to some pics. This is my 06 TL:

Here is my new girl and the subject of this thread:

LOL! I got my first "Infiniti wave" the other day. I didn't see if he was in a sedan or coupe---I was too distracted by the fact I even had someone wave at me! Happens all the time in the S2000. Funny.

Latest!
Added the Ghost Lights from Kaizen (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1) and waiting on a 4080 10" sub enclosure I bought off the site.
Water, Water Everywhere!!!
So, I got my new Pro-ClipsUSA phone holder and went out to install after we had a day of solid rainfall. I open the passenger door and my floormats were floating in a pond of water in the footwell! Broke out the wet-dry and started cleaning. Popped the side trim and the kick plate and pulled up the carpet to find a 2 inch block of foam. Holy Cow! That means I had a good 3 inches of water in there! Finished getting out the water and tried to trace it.
The entire BCM was dripping wet.
Further research on the interwebz found a plastic grommet on the firewall that carries the sunroof drain tube into the engine bay to drain near the front wheels. Either the tube comes unattached or the grommet can break. Other possibilities included an improperly replaced windshield (was original glass), AC condensation drain tube (car sat all day), or the cowl drain behind the battery (I found no standing water in there). What I read was there are 4 drains in each corner of the sunroof. Either the drain can get blocked (resulting in water overflowing into the headliner and draining down the pillar) or the drain tube can become unattached at the firewall grommet. Water was only in the front passenger footwell.
Took it to dealer and they confirmed it was the drain grommet. They checked and confirmed the BCM was okay. Its now part of the car's record should I need work in the future.
I had earlier symptoms during light rain where the inside of the windows would fog up. If you are seeing the same, pull the plastic trim piece up from the doorsill and take a look under the carpet to make sure it is not wet. Do this on both sides. If you don't see anything in the front, check the rear, too. The 2 rear drains go out near the rear wheels.
Car is awaiting parts---I asked them to clean up a wheel I curbed, too. Should get it back Monday. I am driving the Acura again and noticed something---a KEY!!! So 1990s! lol
