Battery

I have a 2008 G37S with 54K miles and the origianl battery. Over the last few weeks it appears that the car struggles to start which leads me to believe the battery may be close to dying. I popped the hood but could not determine who the battery manufacturer is. Does anyone know who the manufacturer is and how much does a battery cost?

Also, has anyone replaced the battery on their own? It appears a little tricky as it has a bolt hidden under a plastic compartment which appears to be a little hard to get to. It is due for an oil change so when I take it to the dealer, I'll probably have them replace the battery as well.

Thanks

I have done it. It's really not that hard. That bolt is only for the brace that holds the battery in place.

You can go to your local auto parts store and pick one up for $75-$100.

Batteries last anywhere from 1-3 years depending on conditions the car is kept in. Sounds like yours is due.

GL!

Simple to install. You need to remove half of the window cowl.

1-3 years is pretty bad actually. Assuming the car is driven regularly, more than a few miles, one would expect it to last at least 5 years. The last battery I put in my camaro lasted 9 years. We still have the OE battery in the '04 grand prix, and finally the OE battery in my last bike lasted 8 years.

Waste of money unless you have a ridiculous stereo in your car

Used them exclusively until they changed their warranty. Now I go to Costco.
