My dealer likes to break more things than they fix so I prefer to do "easy" things like this on my own and leave them for things like exhaust replacements...

It IS easy. I did it on my 06 coupe with no problem. The manual says it works the same way. The only problem is locating the place to put the screwdriver.

Callaway,
Thank you for getting rid of all that non-sense... it was getting rediculous!

Any updates on pics or if it was a success?

This is the first car I've ever had that had projector HIDs. My previous two were HID, but reflector. It definitely took some getting used to because the cut-off is so dramatic compared to reflectors. Could this be one of the reasons why people think the headlights are too low? Just a thought.

No, the reason is because the headlights are aimed too low. Years ago, when properly aimed, headlights would go up to, but not into, the rear window of the car in front of you. Yes, with the exception of big trucks following small cars. That was a simple way of testing the proper height of your lights.

Recently, with the advent of brighter and brighter headlights, manufacturers have aimed the headlights lower so when your trunk or back seat, or both, are fully loaded and your back end drops, the lights won't blind the car in front of you or oncoming cars. This is the ultra-safe approach.

But, when normally loaded, this results in your lights stopping at the top of the rear bumper of the car in front of you; maybe going half way up the trunk. Most people do not even notice this, or haven't driven a car with properly aimed headlights.

Once we figure out how to raise the headlights, and people begin doing this, everyone will say how much more they can see at night and they are not blinding oncoming traffic or the cars in front of them. And, if you are worried about less light directly in front of your car, well, aim the foglights to fill in between the front of your car and the bottom range of your headlights.

P.S. I checked my headlights against a standard template, and, yes, they are low.

Still hopin' we can figure out the adjustment.

Check out this guy's pics. He took the front bumper off, yanked the lights out to paint them. Where on any of the close ups of the lights do you see an adjustment screw? Hopefully somebody has sharper eyes than I do.

i think i see where the screwdriver needs to go, but i'm not sure. i'll take a look at mine later today again

look at that white bolt on the right side.. looks like theres a cutout above it where the screwdriver should slide into. then the other is below it and to the left
