So my Headliner dome lights and rear passenger lights do not turn on. It became a issue I believe after I stripped the interior to clean it and put it back. I initially thought I was missing a connection as I had it out of the car while cleaning however I took it apart again and see that everything is indeed connected. With that I started checking to see what else is not working but so far all of my door lights, trunk lights, prndl lights and dash lights seem to turn on fine. The only other light I noticed that was out so far is one of the license plate lights but thats it. I started to see if this was a issue further up the connection.
1. I see that My Dome lights do not work but the Sunroof control button does work so I know that the dome is receiving power.
2. I checked the voltage at the bulbs connectors for the Dome and it was reading .24 volts but the enclosure said 12v 8w so I believe that it was not receiving sufficient power.
3. I started reading the voltage at the harness that connects to the headliner from the vehicle and each pin was giving me different volts from 1-9 I believe.
4. I checked continuity between the other lights on the headliner and no connection seems to be broken.
5. I checked continuity between some of the pins for the connector on the TICM (Total illumination control module) and it had continuity on one of the cables and high readings on the others so I believe thats good.
6. I checked continuity between the TICM and ground and it seemed to be fine as well.
7. I Checked continuity between the BCM and TICM and that was fine as well.
8. I could not find continuity between the pins from the harness connector thats supposed to plug into the headliner and the TICM, The BCM, and Both Grounds. So it receives some sort of power when the vehicle is on but then cant pinpoint what its connected to when the vehicle is off.
This tells me that its either not connected/missing a connector somewhere or the Ground is bad, or there is a fault somewhere, or maybe even something is not plugged in to the correct connector.
I am perusing the service manuals and wiring diagrams but having problems deciphering what connectors are being referred to etc when they dont give a visual on the connector that they are talking about. I am trying to avoid having to pull the dash again since it was such a pain but if thats the last resort might have to.
This may sound dumb but ... isn't there an "off" position on the main dome light switch which prevents them coming on when opening the doors? Are you sure you didn't bump that?

If the "Total illumination control module" is aftermarket, can you remove it and restore operation of the interior lights? This is the first issue I've seen where the headliner lights quit working for no reason.

no haha wish it was that simple. Ended up being a module called the TICM located underneath the passenger kick panel.
Its another complicated failure point module infiniti added to some models and not all im seeing. Long story short if you get a vehicle with one in it and weird problems are happening with your lights its that.

Yes so its a somewhat newish module Infiniti/Nissan was putting in their vehicles. I thought everyone had it but its only certain models. Its just another complicated failure point. I ended up getting 3 new ones and they all slightly didnt work but after installing in the proper orientation they function after a good love tap.
