Making this post to help others on replacing the license plate light bracket, along with hardware, bulbs and harness. It is very easy to do and simple.
Parts list:
Nylon Zip Tie (1X)
Light harness: 2651-AM800 (1X)
LED Bulbs: Sylvania 194 T10 Cool White 046135329432 (2X Pack)
Light Housings Assemblies: 26510-CD00A (2X, I reused my original)
I reused my my light housings and bulb sockets with them. I went with yellow zinc dichromate screws from Belmetric as they have a nice finish and won't rust or cause corrosion issues when using dissimilar metals. I went with Sylvania bulbs as the Diode Dynamics ones, the caps fell off and one burnt out and did not see really any reason to buy them again.
Step 1: Remove the two Philips self tapping screws from the rear bumper.
Step 2: Snake out the bracket by moving to one side around the mounting hole tabs and then do the other.
Step 3: Disconnect the main harness connector and remove the entire bracket from the rear.
Thing looks like it came from the bottom of the ocean..... nothing seems safe from road salt.
I took apart the light housings and bulb sockets and used CRC QD connector spray to clean the connectors and a can of 3D aerosol glass cleaner to wipe the lenses down. Let everything dry before putting it back together.
Step 4: Insert the bulbs into the sockets and connect them to the harness. Then secure the harness to the tab on the bracket. Insert the plastic screw retainers into the bracket. Make sure you install the bulbs the correct way, these bulbs had a certain orientation in order to power on. If unsure, turn the car on and see if the bulbs turn on. Then proceed with the next steps.
Step 5: Add a zip tie for extra measure on the section of harness that clips into the bracket tab. Connect the sub harness to the chassis harness, make sure it is fully seated.
Step 6: Feed the bracket through one side at an angle and position it in place, put the self tapping screws in by hand, then use an impact to drive them in. I recommend running the self tapping screws into the plastic inserts fully before the install so they are easy to start by hand.
Step 7: Put your license plate back on and secure it in place.
Step 8: Turn the car on and turn on your headlights, go to the rear and inspect the bulbs are functioning. All set!
