09 G37x steering
Hi guys I’m new here, and new to Nissan/Infiniti. I recently inherited an 09 G37x sedan with 98k miles on it. My first impression is the car is very impressive however, the steering seems pretty tight. Is this normal? Or is it something to look at? I’ve done some searching but it usually just leads to actual steering issues. At this point I’m trying to figure out if this is an actual issue or if these cars just have heavier steering than what I’m used to. Thanks in advance!

What vehicle are you coming from or used to? What tire (and size) is on the front?
If the PS fluid level at within range, not leaking, and not making any funny noises then I'd say it's normal. The steering on my S sedan was pretty tight too.

I’ve driven almost everything haha… most recently an Expedition, SQ5 and Silverado… I’ll have to check the fluid when I get a second, haven’t heard any whining or anything concerning as of yet.
The steering on my 07 was really heavy when the car was stock, after i lowered it the steering effort has been considerably less. The alignment was in spec before too, so I never really came up with an explanation for what was going on there. But yea, it sounds normal.
Also, all the cars you listed have very light steering feel.

Just checked the level and checked for leaks, all looks good. Must just be a little heavier than usual. I’ve also had a few vehicles recently with electronic power steering which is usually really light.
