Window rubber moulding

anybody come across something like this and a fix? i had some gunk building up near the sills there and decided to "wipe" if off and the rubber started to pull up and basically fall apart... i plan to add some silicone to remaining parts to keep them alive so to speak, but just wondering if others have had this issue and what was your fix? i have taken door panel off before but never noticed that strip and planned to do this weekend to look and see but if can buy something before and just fix it at one time would be great.

I had the same thing and replaced the belt moldings. The heat is killer for these cars.

Pretty sure I got the moldings from clear lake infiniti parts.

I just pulled a set of those off a g37 in the junk yard a few days ago. It seems to just be a pressure fit with one clip a few inches away from the mirror side edge. I used a plastic trim tool and slowly applied upwards pressure till it popped off. Be careful, its super easy to bend the aluminum trim. Not sure if this helped at all but i went in kinda clueless on how to take them off

side view, gap is where the door sheet metal slides into

@Kenooo , so hey, another thanks to you, as I decided to look at the local pull it yard and they just got a 12 base sedan , so got the part for under 10 and perfect fit...I don't think they do anything for water , maybe dust and debris, but we are going to have a few days of rain here in central FL so part of me was eager to replace it....though I will say, if anyone has this issue in future and can't find a replacement, when you take the piece off, you may be able to expoxy a piece of rubber , say like the contact rubber portion from a used windshield wiper blade as it's durable and rigid to nearly match ...I already had the piece before thinking this as a solution ...so worth keeping in mind...below pics are of how I got the piece off...just take off screwdriver and gently place it beneath that section near door handle as that was the only latch/clip on mine...just be careful not to scratch paint....and the only reason I knew it would work was because at the junkyard, I figured what the hell and placed screwdriver and two taps and it lifted. then just gently continue to lift until the section near mirror , that end pulls back and then out...

place screwdriver in this general area...be sure to tape off so as not to damage paint on car

once it starts to lift , then continue to end

the end is a pull back then up

old and new piece ... much easier to wrap once off

finished
