Another radiator hose leak after repair
Good evening everyone. About a month ago, my service advisor informed me that my car is leaking coolant. After an engine inspection, the service advisor recommended to change the radiator hose. I agreed to the repair and it cost me a good $400 in parts and labor. I went in for an oil change yesterday, and the service advisor informed me there is another leak from a different radiator hose and it would cost me about $150 for parts and labor. I was in a hurry that day and the dealership was very busy so I was not able to go in depth with the issue. I texted a good friend of mine who owns a Q50 with about the same mileage as my car and told me he has yet to encounter an issue such as mine. He also told me that some dealerships like to take advantage when it comes to repairs due to employee incentives and commission. I took his advice with a grain of salt because I know he parted ways with a dealership on a bad note. Thank you all in advanced.

One more thing that got my attention is that I believe my car was taken for a test drive. I am not sure if that is normal practice, but I noticed my Dash Camera is missing footage from the time my car was taken in for service. I truly believe my Dash Camera was disconnected during this time period. Not trying to be paranoid, but I read too many stories about technicians driving customer's car pretty hard.
Coolant hoses are common maintenance and though most of our cars wont need them at low mileages it comes down to when was that problem detected. I have in the past procrastinated with my coolant leaks only to have had this leak manifest itself into other leaks.
The coolant system does not like having air in it and these leaks introduce air into the system this air creates excess pressure. The radiator cap is supposed to vent any pressure that exceeds 16psi which is common in a leak.
This leak will weaken the rest of the system. I had the rubber gasket of the radiator bleeder crap out and developed a weeping leak. 3 months later one of my heater hoses is now leaking.
I'm putting a list of hoses to replace all at once and do a system flush. VQs dont like coolant leaks at all. If you dont want to pay another hefty fix, find yourself a local member who can wrench on this car.
As far as the camera goes, I wouldn't be surprised they disconnected it. Many times techs are rushed or rush themselves to get it done and out. Beating on it will get coolant hot and will determine if the fix held, granted you could have done the same by leaving it on with the funnel and heater on for 30 mins however 30 mins is a life time in the shop.
I would also suggest you try to tamper proof the camera for future repairs, as a former tech you can't always follow the book on things and these unorthodox approaches can get you in trouble. Parts of test drives are driving vehicles under all conditions to confirm problem was dealt with.
Example: For the steering wheel tilt switch you can remove it without taking the column plastics off which would require taking off the wheel. The right tools will get the switch out however it raises the risk for damage about 40%

Thank you for replying. If I remember correctly, I now need the upper hose. I will do this last repair in the dealership and I will start looking for a reputable independent shop. I am hoping the hoses that were recently replaced will be fine. The replacement for the upper hose will be done in a little over a week. The money I spent this past week on maintenance and repair caught me off guard. Thanks again for the input.
There are many thread about coolant leaks here. Chk them out.
For me..if I were to pay someone for coolant leak fix.. it will be hoses toward the back of engine. Those are the difficult ones. ...
However, I did most of my hoses replacement cuz I'm a little **** with other fixin my ride
GL & hope everything works out for u
