Tilt and Telescope (Manual to Powered)
Tilt and Telescope (Manual to Powered)
Have a 2015 Q40 with a manual tilt and telescope. Wondered if it's possible to buy the pair of motors online with a panel that has the "power" **** adjuster and install it. In addition I also found kits of paddle shifters with steering wheel covers that work on all 37 models since all of them have a power shifter harness taped up inside the column. Any feedback is appreciated on the matter.
You would likely need a entire steering column in order to get the power tilt/telescoping feature- IF the wiring harnesses are there. Adding the "motors" would only work if your existing column has the gears and mechanism in place.
As for the paddles, maybe. Contrary to popular belief not every car was pre-wired. Just a matter of getting into the column and verifying. Either way, they can be added as long as the paddles are column mounted.

Thanks. That's all I needed. I guess that's a skip on powered tilt and telescope. For paddles however I will have to take off panels around the wheel to see if the harness is there. I read some forums and they say if it is then it should be covered in tape. The kits online come with panels that have gaps for the paddles to stick out. Issue is that these kits cost near $500.
No paddle shifter kit is worth ≈$500 or so. None. Just my opinion. Plenty come up used on here and on fleaBay. I sold mine for $300 when I swapped steering wheels.
Verify if you're pre-wired, then scour for some deals.
