Do you have a winter car/daily driver? I've been thinking of getting a 3rd car and keeping the G for a weekend car. I also own a 2014 Kia Optima and my GF has a 2014 Buick Regal. Thinking about getting a car to drive during the winter.
Our winter car is an '07 Nissan Versa SL hatchback. FWD with Michelin X-Ice X13 snow tires gets me anywhere I need to during our Colorado winters. It's not an expensive winter vehicle and my two Bernese Mountain Dogs love riding in it.
I was thinking of selling the Optima and getting a cheap Honda Pilot. My car isn't heavily modded- Ark Grip, Z1 CAI, Berk HFC, tuned, but it's only got 52k miles so I want to keep it nice.
Idk where you're located or how bad the winters are. I live in the Chicago burbs. Winters are cold...but fairly dry. Really any car with a good set of tyres works here. Roads are plowed pretty quick when we do get precipitation.
Most places, you don't need AWD, but its nice to have.
IDK where this thread is headed. Maybe Honda Pilot forums. Where ppl spice up their Pilots?
Cleveland certainly get storms and lake-effect. Columbus, they just keep getting dumped on slow and steady. And Cincinnati has relatively easy winters... they're basically Kentucky.

Pretty much this. My G is my daily, with AWD and Snow Tires it's pretty much a tank throughout winters in Columbus.
You mind sharing more information and pictures? This thing is awesome feel free to start a new thread
Sure, anything you want to know, just ask! I appreciate the praise. The truck looks great in pics. It's got its nicks and dings because I use it for camping, dog hauling, and our trips. Not sure what the rules are here about cross posting so I just copied the pictures from my thread on thenewx.org. I'm sort of weird and don't take a lot of pictures but there are a few below from an old thread.
I've had the truck for 5 years or so. Rusty on the rear quarters but I use it in Ohio Winters. Wanted a manual, wanted the off road package, but didn't want all the bells/whistles, leather, tech so it took me a while to find. Did wheels and a few things over the first few years of ownership. Decided I didn't like the VQ40 so started collect to parts in 2018 for a VK56DE swap. Truck had mild suspension lift installed that year. Mostly concentrated on drivetrain modifications and fixing all the old stuff. Started VK swap winter 2019. Now It's a Driven Desire swappee truck which means it retains all the creature comforts (A/C, Power Steering, my Cruise Control, 4x4 and stock locker, Keyless Entry, my OEM Alarm, ECM, 6 Speed Manual, and apparently my faulty 02 code. The only custom work required was having the factory harness modified by Brennan Becker at Driven Desire, and using a C3 Bellhousing Adaptor. Everything to get it to work is 90% OEM off the shelf.... EVERYTHING even the engine/trans mounting. Went with Longtubes, Resonated Secondaries, Full exhaust but went 2.5" to keep the volume down for long trips and hauling stuff. It's Up-Rev Base Tuned and I drive it everywhere. Finished up in February this year. Never dyno'd but it's a handful at WOT and a saint on light throttle every day driving. 6-Speed is fun, but starting in second is a must in bad weather. I'm currently working with Driven Desire on new OEM engine swap options for the G37 Sedan.
