I think it was me that started this in the WDYDT thread

Thursday afternoon-Sunday afternoon last week:

Charlotte to Akron: 500 miles
Akron to Columbus: 200 miles
Columbus to Charlotte: 450 miles

23.7 mpg with the cruise control set to 12 over, so, 82 most of the way. Lot's of WV highway patrol, but they were all sitting with the radar on, so my V1 picked them up from pretty far away.

I enjoyed driving the G. Handling is great, the sport steering is fantastic, and the seats are comfortable. Although, as mentioned, the cup holders are absolutely terrible for anything other than a bottle of water.

If I was really going to nit-pick, I'd say the cruise control sometimes struggles to increase speed on a grade--like, all of WV. Better off giving it gas and resetting than trying to bump up a couple miles when going from a 65-70 zone.

For the seats, I've found that slightly varying the position helps with comfort as it changes the way your weight is distributed. I also tend to stop every 100-125 miles at a rest stop for 5 minutes to stretch my legs. It's especially easy to do a quick bathroom break when you are solo.

Southern PA to Florida (Daytona) and back. Car performed very well, but lately I am finding the Sport seats to be the limiting factor. More frequent "fatigue stops" help, but it is disconcerting.

Side note: I just got back from a trip to Tampa, FL in the S2000 and was pleasantly surprised at how comfortable that trip was.

I have driven a few times New York to Georgia straight through. It’s 950 miles and I stop 3 times for gas. Best time was 14.5 hours. Love the G except for the sport seat I get a major cramp in my a** every time!

From central NJ to Miami FL and only 1 warning from a state trooper in SC while driving down. I think he liked how my car looked and sound LOL.

How often do you guys rip out of the toll booth?

I'd guess I blast off 90% of the time, pretty tough to resist although I often have to weave like an a-hole as the lanes merge.

We have EZ Tag, an RFID system. I zoom past the proletariat stopped at the booths.

I don't regularly drive on toll roads, but when I do, I blast out of the toll booth 100% of the time

We have an EZ-Pass, too. It's great.

In my G, I have the option to merge into traffic with the throttle Not so much in my other cars.

But I never "blast" out of the toll booths. Cameras, cops, adult(ish)... all those reasons.

Adult-ish

I don't think there is anything illegal about rate of acceleration, provided you don't exceed the posted limit by more than a few mph

In North Carolina you can be cited for aggressive driving. I assure you an extreme acceleration can count depending on surrounding circumstances.

Meh, I think "aggressive driving" is debatable. Rapid acceleration to the speed limit, on a limited access, divided highway, with little traffic is weak.

You might get pulled over for it, but I highly doubt you're getting a ticket. I've been pulled over for it twice, no tickets

It's a subjective call made by traffic cops. If I were a cop, and I watched someone launch WOT out of the toll plaza, I'd seriously considering dropping my doughnut.

Do what you want, man. I'm just giving some old man advice that a toll plaza maybe isn't the best place to play like that.

725 Miles from someplace in WV to chicago, only stops were fuel and bathroom breaks. Mostly backroads, some interstate. This was on my fz1 (motorcycle) some years back.

Longest day trip with the G is also in the 600-700 mi range.
