I think I am between an Audi RS3 and maybe going back to Subaru if they make the new STI awesome. Lots of rumors about that car finally getting a new power plant and maybe even hybrid tech.
I think this prototype would look so much better if they ditched the fender flares and the ugly wing. Hopefully, they don't dumb it down too much to look like a Corolla again like they did with the last WRX concept.
funny you say that @madmax, my old roommate moved out to SD and his lease is up in december on his 2017 Q50 sport. He's been test driving almost anything that has come to his mind, and recently drove the Alfa Guilia, Jag XE35T, and Q60.
He had great things to say about all 3, including how well the alfa drove and how underrated the jag is. BUT he didnt love how the q60 drove compared to the Alfa. At the moment, he ranked them from Alfa to Jag to Q60. He said he really liked the Q60 but if the price is close enough to the Alfa (within $50 a month difference) he would go Alfa.
When talking about cars in this class... if $50/month is keeping someone from getting the car they want, then maybe they're punching above their weight. A car lease is supposed to be a convenience, not a limitation.
Now that it's been out for a few years, there's nothing about the Q50/Q60 that appeals to me. I think my 6MT will be my last Infiniti.

on the first part, but agreed on the second part, unfortunately the newest infiniti's haven't done it for me, but could change a few years down the line
Yea agreed as well. I looked at them both again at the auto show and wasn't super impressed. The interior is pretty nice though. They have upgraded the materials and build quality. I still kind of prefer the symetrical look of the G's interior though. And the moving guage pod is now gone. The outside is just .... meh...
F30 6 banger for me, though I'm not looking forward to the LSD + subframe bushing replacement.
Infiniti has always been very topsy turvy... first Q45 was awesome, second 2 sucked. First 2 M gens sucked, 3rd one good, 4th one looked like it had an allergic reaction. Etc. I rip on Audi for making nanoscopic design changes with each generation but maybe there is something to not reinventing the wheel every go around.
I spied a blue M235i the other day on the road, eyeballing it for a few stoplights from all directions both moving and at a full stop. Normally not into blue of any shade, but damn that car looked good to me.
You're leaning BMW? LSD + subframe on your G or the F30?
F30. G has the VLSD and I have a bunch of other stuff that are higher priorities (Flex Zs, smaller/lighter wheels, control arm/tie rod bushings). The back end of the G isn't super tight but it's tight enough. The back end of a stock F30 by contrast barely feels connected to the car. So first move with that will be locking down that subframe, then wheels/tires/coilovers, and then the LSD. But that's years out, like 2021 at the earliest. I'm really hoping I can get a 997 by then...

I agree with you here on both counts, especially the new Q's. They improved the engine and made some non-essential driver's aids available, but everything else feels like a step backwards for enthusiasts. The car got heavier, they kept the same brakes(?!?), worse weight balance, no 6spd, no adjustable thigh bolsters, electric steering with less feel etc, etc. I get that our cars were borderline performance cars. I was just hoping the Q series would go more in the direction of performance instead of pulling a 180 towards luxury.
I keep trying to convince myself that a used Q50 red sport would be a good move with AWD since they now come with the big brakes and a great engine begging for a tune. They are also relatively cheap. But the disadvantages still far outweigh the advantages for me.
I agree with the assessment on the newer infiniti's as not being such an enthusiast car anymore...I might put up with it if they updated the transmission cause the VR30DDTT seems like such a good engine but I think I'm going to end up moving to a KIA...I had really high hopes for the KIA Stinger until I saw one in person the other day, it just seems so big, long in particular....I'm crossing my fingers on the Genesis G70 which is supposed to be on a shorter wheelbase
Imagine how good our cars would be with the new twin turbo Q engine.
I know the Kia Stinger is getting some good reviews and it has a similar twin turbo engine from the Genesis, but it is so butt scar ugly. The front and back end could not be less cohesive and cheap looking- as are the wheels. However, I saw one in black at the Milwaukee Auto show with different (optional?) wheels and it actually did not look too bad.
