Now couple questions,

Top of the car was wrapped in this tape probably due to busted window and moonroof. Its pretty hard to peel it off, anybody had experience with that? how to take it off easier?

Also, I was sitting in the car this evening and noticed that analog clock light sometimes turns on and sometimes off. Do you know what's the issue?

I also noticed that light for seat heating toggle switch sometimes lights up when its turned on and sometimes not.

The hood looks pretty bad. But, i'm sure you can get another one, maybe even the same color from the junk yard. But, i guess you may get to a point and say "this thing is only worth $8000 tops in mint condition due to the salvage title", "do i really want to dump more money into it". And just drive it instead! Besides the hood the rest of it looks really good. Is the trunk lid beat too?

Trunk lid looks pretty good. Hood looks like that pretty much only at that angle, if I am looking at it from the front or side, it looks fine. I think I won't touch the hood unless I see a really good steal deal for a hood replacement.

Might try a hot air dryer on that tape to soften it up, hard to say though if it's really baked on there.

Crash wrap. It's going to suck, a lot after being on there this long. Heat will be your friend, try to peel it at a very shallow angle as well, like 15 degrees or so, it'll help keep the adhesive from sticking to the car.

Edit: Clock is a common issue, diode is going out. You can take the clock apart and solder in a new diode, replace the entire unit from Infiniti/used and hope for the best, or just drive without the light which is what I do.

For the wrap stuff might come off easier with a heat gun or hair dryer.

You might also want to contact a PDR guy and see how much it would be to get out those dents from the panels... for the trunk and hood you might just be better off pulling one off a wrecked junkyard car.

but sounds like you also have some electrical problems... that's gonna suck.

I am sure. Car drives great, no issues as far as performance goes so far. Interior did not have sand. Only back seat had some dirt (from busted window). I guess may be it was on a sandy lot in Texas for awhile.

Speaking of which, what would be the best way to clean the engine compartment?

Dude, that's an insane amount of damage and neglect, hopefully it will not become one of those projects that you always have to fix, just because it's so far gone. What prompted you to do this, aside from the price?

There are definitely more dents than I thought. Windows replaced. Tail lights will be replaced tonight. Moon roof glass is on the way. That's it, I don't have to fix anything else.

If dents will be too much, I might eventually take it to a body shop.

I've been looking for a car for awhile as my current Infiniti i35 has 185k. I figured its time for a replacement.

G37 cost with shipping and fees $5200. So far I paid $620 for windows replacement. $160 for tail lights. $160 for moonroof glass.

That's like 50 percent off. Not bad!!!! But, as OCD as i am. I don't think i would want it! But, for the wife who crashed my first g it would be perfect!!

Thanks bro. Really appreciate it.

Looked at the engine compartment today. Wow, so complicated comparing to my i35

It looks like its really tough to change anything inside the engine compartment.
