Be aware of the difference between the XS sedan and XS coupe. Unlike the coup, the sedan is sports in appearance only. You don't get any of the sport hard bits the actual S cars have like suspension, brakes, tighter steering, limited slip diff, etc. If you don't want/need awd, go for the g37s sedan. Or if feeling really adventurous go with the g37s 6mt sedan (assuming you can find one).
you couldn't pay me to pick the maxima, and I've owned them I had a 5.5 anniversary edition and a 2008 SE. That CVT trans is terrible, talk about ZERO feel. Come on John you wont even buy a G37 unless it's a manual and the auto isn't as bad as you think. But to say you'd buy the maxima with a CVT it just ;/

A cvt is perfectly fine for local driving or commuting. Forget it if you're expecting any kind of feedback from the car. I've driven our accord for well over 1000 miles traveling out of state in the last month. Sure the car gets you from point a to b, but it's a very dull and boring car. The only saving grace is it'll get close to 40 mpg if you keep steady throttle and under 65.
