G37 Sedan muffler section question

I have not removed my mufflers yet to see how they are connected but from videos online it seems that a muffler delete will keep me happy.

That being said, is the factory connection a 2" vband? I do NOT want to hack up my oem mufflers. I want a simple bolt on solution and do not like the offered axlebacks online. It is sad to see however that infiniti used 2" or smaller piping. I mic'd my rear section at 1.9" externally

There is a set of muffler-delete pipes in the classifieds at this time.

I know but they are weld on ones not a simple bolt on affair.

There isn't a bolt on muffler delete option for the sedans. The one from botlfed in the classifieds I believe is my old setup I sold to him. It will bolt up right to the stock Y pipe.

Well the question I am asking is, for the break point on the axleback section, does infiniti use a 2" vband? It looks like one so I figured I might be able to purchase a 2" vband and build a bolt on one for cheap without hacking up the stock mufflers.

It does not use a V band. Rochester has a picture of the full OEM exhaust layout.

The axleback is attached via v band clamps, I don't know whether it's a 2" or not though.

I think you're right, just checked out Rochester's image. I thought it was a U-bolt clamp similar to my Stillen exhaust.

So pricing this out...

If it is indeed a 2" v band, as I can easily find those vs the 48mm which I think would be a perfect fit, then I would just need; 1 vband setup ($25), 2 dual wall tips ($60), some supporting piping ($60-100). So full muffler delete allowing me ease of 5 minute swap to oem mufflers without cutting anything would run me about $145-185 if I do the welding myself. Not terrible. Guess I can always remove one muffler and get measurements.

(Wheels turning in head) Hmmmm maybe I should start building these beasts for the sedan crowd and pop them out at a cool $375?!!!
