After a few hours of cutting, grinding, and trial & error I finally shortened my shifter stalk by about an inch and installed my Nismo GTR shift ****. Here it is without the bottom ring attached to the boot as I will be doing that but other wise works great, looks much better shorter to the center console. Here it is installed.
I'll post pics tomorrow of the boot mounted to the bottom ring.
The GTR shift gate pattern doesnt even match the G shift gate pattern, not to mention the factory G pattern is already in text right next to the shifter.

So you have two different shift gate patterns.
Seems pretty rice to me.
He could always vinyl wrap over the lever covering the shift pattern. The **** itself is definitely more upscale, wouldn't call that rice, that term is usually reserved for things of lesser quality added to a vehicle, but just my O.
Mad props but very out of place. The M **** is much better. They are basically the same shape except the lock button is placed differently. And different color I guess.
Could you have just cut two grooves in the metal stalk and seated the clip into them and call it a day? It would also enable you to replace with a factory ****.

I had the M **** for little over a year, black perforated one to be exact. I prefer the look and feel of the GTR **** much better. However I did like my M45 ****. Now I have a 16 Maxima and M45 lying around.

Honestly with the M45,16 Maxima, and GTR **** they slid right onto the stalk and work straight from the get go with no mods. The only thing is they don't lock in place with the pin unless you make some grooves higher up for it, however I never felt the need for one as the shifter never moved up unless I wanted to take it off.
There are definitely a few levels of modification you can do depending on the goal and work you want to put in for the auto shifters.

What if you color-matched the flappy paddles the same saddle brown? Can they be leather wrapped? Not only would that satisfy the need for visual continuity, but it would make a whole lot of sense that both transmission controls shared a similar color theme.

That, or the steering wheel leather a saddle brown, or a woodgrain trim kit.
