Fast Intentions Exhaust help

I have been interested in the Fast Intentions exhaust for a while now and I have some questions regarding the exhausts. Does the 12" resonators have drone? If so, how bad is it? And is the 18" resonator exhaust noticeably louder than stock inside and outside the car? I have tried to use search but didn't find the answer that I wanted. Thanks

yes 12" has drone esp over 80 on the highway its bad.

i think 18 sounds nice enough that if u want to avoid drone that may be a good option.

I love my 12" FI catback, but if i had to do it all over, would have went 18"

Just installed my fast intentions exhaust with the 18" resonators. Love the sound of the exhaust. Not too loud and definitely louder than stock.

besides the resonator size options, you have the exhaust tubing sizes to consider as well.... 2.25" or 2.5". Maybe give Tony a call at FI....

Do you have high flow cats or test pipes or factory cats?

I have the 18" resonators for a few years and have enjoyed it this entire time. It is noticeable all around and no drone at 80 mph.

It does get louder in colder temperatures.

stock cats.

I'll probably get RHFC at some point but not sure. I don't want the exhaust any louder.

I have the 2 1/4" piping with 18" resonators and get drone while cruising at around 1,500rpms, that's it. Other than that it's a nice beautiful VQ growl throughout the RPM range....

I have the round mufflers with 18" resonators and stock cats. I get drone where these cars tend to have them (in the 1500-1800 range). On the highway it's a slight purr that's not bad. My buddy had a Z that was straight piped and he wore ear plugs on long car trips. He ended up trading it in and now he leases a civic

I think it's likely you'll have drone with the 12" and only a little bit with the 18". I've never felt any regret with my setup.

That was my thinking, that a 2.5" CBE would have a deeper tone than otherwise, while rasp was mitigated by having resonators in the high-flow cats, and 18" resonators in the cat-back. For that matter, the tips are also resonated.

I'm feeling pretty good about it, but honestly don't have a direct, hands-on and side-by-side comparison. I'm hoping to get some sense one way or the other at this summer's meet-up. Validation is a nice-to-have when 90% your decisions are made by being a computer jockey.

As for drone... If you throttle 6th gear on the highway (on the 6MT), you get drone. Otherwise, sounds great.

I've heard your exhaust set up and it sounds really good! And by you having the 6MT, you have the luxury of really having your exhaust notes hit great tones during downshifts

I picked up a used FI CBE (2.25") that's in excellent condition - barely used by the original owner - that I've yet to install. If/when I get it installed, I'll report back with a video. But I must say, from a craftsmanship point of view, the FI CBE and products are at a different level - very well-built and SOLID!

it's been raining here in CT for the past few days and more to come so I'll just be waiting it out to do the install...Spring time on the east coast is unpredictable LOL.
